Among the Eskimo it is customary for the men to dress the skins of large animals such as reindeer, wolves, wolverines, bears, seals, and walrus, while the women prepare the skins of smaller creatures such as fawns, hares, muskrats, marmots, and waterfowl, and sometimes assist the men in the preparation of the larger skins.

End-scraper with a graver spur on the other end. Still, it is flaked all the way around its circumference with use evidence (hinge fractures) on the sides. It is likely to be a Paleo-Indian artifact (uniface), and is from North Florida. |

The Dovetail Blunt is made
of a translucent Chalcedony, measures 1" in length; one corner does have
an Early Archaic made minor nick, but excellent basal grinding. The
Thebes is made of a glossy white chert, most likely a Burlington chert.
I'm hedging the chert identification, as Muhlenberg is a bit out of
Burlington's normal distribution range, and other white cherts can look
very similar. Basal grinding is superb, the piece measures 1&5/16". The
7/8" Hornstone Big Sandy Auriculate is the shortest scraper, but gives
away nothing in quality to the others; again, excellent grinding to the
basal edge.
