DENTICULATED SCRAPER

Defined as a large endscrapers with toothed (Denticulated) margins.

Denticulated Scraper from Western Pennsylvania

Denticulated scrapers are pressure flaked along their lateral margins in the process of making serrated edges.

I'm am assuming there was little to no flaking at the distal end.

The marginal flaking was done to create a comb-like effect while scraping or sawing.

From what I've read scrapers of this type are often used as fiber separators for both sinew and plant fibers.

It is quite possible that what we see in the below photos are end scrapers with a  denticulated hafting zone.
