Fossilized Mammoth Ivory Comb. Length 3.04" Width1.46". With etchings on both margins

 

 

5.8" Ivory Four Toothed Sinew Shredding Comb

 

Thread for sewing clothing or other small articles is made of sinew from the legs of reindeer, dried and beaten with a maul to loosen the fibers, which are then divided and cleaned. Small comb-like implements with from two to four teeth are in use for this purpose.
